Seniority Announcement - June 2012

Seniority Announcement - June 2012
This article marks the latest announcements detailing the latest additions to the dizzy height of Senior members in our community. With just over 900 deviants holding the highly saught after ` -- it's clearly a moment that deserves recognition.
:faq29:
So what does it take to become a Senior? That's a question many have asked and have never really been able to get a straight answer on. Some have gained Seniority as a thank you for their time spent as a Volunteer, or to recognise their contribution to a particular project or collaborative action. Some have gained Seniority because of their community spirit, providing help and assistance to many other deviants and taking time out to promote the work of others in the community.
Some people have received Seniority because of their artistic endevours, having a positive influence on their peers by sharing resources, providing constructive criticism and by being a voice t

dA adds new CSS attributes Skinners! Must read!Okay, as per the latest dA site update found here. CSS coders are now allowed to use 3 more properties to rock their journal skins.
The properties are:
1) content
2) counter-increment
3) counter-reset

~~~~EXPLANATION~~~~
Lets see what can we do with these new fancy stuffs!
What does these attributes do?
1) content--> it is used to insert generated content in your HTML (Journal body for DA). Don't worry, don't worry! I'll tell you what is this "generated" content!
2) counter-increment --> it is used to insert numbers (or counters) to sections or sub-sections. I'll explain what "sections" and "sub-sections" are don't worry again!
3) counter-reset --> it is used to reset the counters
All these 3 properties are generally interlinked and are used together. But the "content" property can be used alone and has some cool usage.
~~~~"cont
Premium Content: Sellin & Buyin-Important ReadYa ya I know! Some of you know about it now! Read completely to understand..

Now all the premium members can have a small widget like thing in your deviation to directly sell your contents. I know it looks cool to have that cool widget thing displayed in your deviation page. But is it really worth it? Think about it!
Perhaps you've clearly read what it says... 80% revenue shall be transferred to the the seller and rest goes to deviantART! So, why should a seller loose 20% of the revenue if he/she can sell the same content by other means and yet loose nothing? The seller might not loose but then the buyer looses if the seller doesn't.
Let me get into more details with some scenarios and example to make more sense....
-------------------------------------------------------
Example 1: I want to sell a journal Skin @ 1000pts
Now you may be excited to sell it using the new premium content platform. Right? So, what do you do? You quote 1000pts as
Premium Content platform - WTF!Just yesterday "someone" bought a skin of mine. I had uploaded that skin as a "fast purchase" using the new "Premium Content platform" just to test the new feature that had been enabled for my account sometime ago for testing by DA. This is the skin btw...

So, now! Someone had purchased it and I have NO CLUE who purchased it! :omfg: I just got a message in my activity saying
"Awesome! You've just sold a download of 3D-Flux-Journal-Skin $10.00 has been deposited in your My Earnings page"
I've searched through the My earnings page, searched in the points transaction history page, order history (just in case) and the deviation page itself. But I've still got no trace of the person who bought it? :noes: So, this is how this new  "Premium Content platform" works? You don't even know who is buying from you? :

Hahaha...Thanks mate! :hug:

Our group founder wanted a professional and light-weight skin for the group which portrays the feel of a newspaper. So, this is what I had come up with. :D I can tell you it was quite challenging for me to get all the elements together to work flawlessly in any stipulated desktop resolution. :phew: I had to make sure it is displayed correctly in all the browser and in any given screen resolution. :thanks:
